For our amazing Simpplr customers, join us at 9:00 am and participate in a two hour user group focused on interactive sharing of best practices and how to’s.  Be ready to do some show and tell.

In the afternoon, we’ll have our non-Simpplr community join us as we transition into presentations and round table discussions focused on the measurable outcomes and value organizations are driving  with Simpplr and their internal communications and employee experience programs. We’ll also share Simpplr’s perspective on the future of our industry and how Simpplr is evolving to both impact and support it.

Born and raised in Southern California, now residing in Las Vegas, Sergio Avila has been a storyteller for nearly two decades. His career began in journalism where he was a news reporter for over 10 years. He’s an Emmy, Associated Press and Edward R Murrow award winner for his various news coverage. He left his journalism career to pursue a different type of storytelling in public relations.

Eventually that career shift opened up an opportunity as Manager of Internal Communications for AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah. When he’s not creating the best words to use in communications with his team, he’s out exploring Las Vegas’ latest attractions or taking a trip to experience great restaurants and tasty cocktails wherever he can find them.

Bala is passionate about building and scaling products and companies. He started this journey at Microsoft both in APJ and then worldwide roles, followed by his role as a product leader at Apigee, helping them to IPO and an acquisition by Google Cloud. Before joining Simpplr, he was the Chief Product Officer for Tidal at X (formerly Google X), helping drive innovation through advanced computer vision and AI for addressing complex ocean challenges we face as humanity.

Currently, Bala is focused on driving AI-based innovations for Simpplr’s employee experience and modern intranet platform. With a genuine dedication to enhancing employee experiences, he aims to deliver outstanding solutions that empower organizations.

Chief People & Experience Officer, Simpplr

As Chief People & Experience Officer for Simpplr, Miriam gets to work on their belief that when work is good, life is better. Simpplr, a leader in modern intranet software, is fueled by a mission to transform the work experience for billions of people around the world. Miriam gets to apply her three decades of experience in HR consulting, to shape and deliver a great employee experience at Simpplr, through forward-thinking HR and the application of Simpplr’s AI-powered technology.

Miriam also helps innovate Simpplr’s solution for the HR user, leveraging her years of consulting experience supporting organizations to transform their HR service delivery, and adapt to the ever-changing world of work. Miriam has worked across a range of industries, from start-ups to Fortune 100 organizations.

Miriam was previously a partner in EY’s People Advisory practice, and a Senior Leader at Willis Towers Watson. Miriam has a MBA, with an emphasis on Organizational Behavior and HR Strategy, a MSc in Applied Geophysics, and a BSc in Physics and Geology.
