The Reworked IMPACT Awards celebrate exceptional work in employee experience, recognizing both practitioners and vendors. Simpplr received the Gold Impact Award for Excellence in Employee Intranet and Communications Platforms for our transformative work with Workiva.

Workiva is a global software company with over 2,200 employees across 20 locations. Their leaders faced significant challenges with their outdated intranet. With a largely remote workforce, they needed a modern solution to streamline communication, support scalability, and better reflect company culture.

They selected Simpplr after a thorough evaluation of intranet vendors, impressed by the platform’s modern look, ease of use, and robust analytics. Their new AI-powered intranet, Connect, now serves as the central hub for all internal communications, fostering transparency, collaboration, and alignment with Workiva’s mission and culture.

“The implementation of Simpplr has revolutionized our internal communications and employee engagement at Workiva. We’ve seen a remarkable boost in collaboration and a stronger alignment with our company culture.” — Lauren Frandsen, Senior Manager of Internal Communications, Workiva

After implementing Simpplr, Workiva achieved significant results:

  • 99% of their global workforce actively uses the platform
  • 20% improvement in productivity through less time searching for information
  • 25% decrease in email volume after streamlining communication
  • 67% open rate for their weekly newsletter, Connected

Their story demonstrates how the right intranet solution can transform internal communications, particularly for distributed workforces. By creating a central hub for information and interaction, Workiva has successfully fostered a more connected, engaged, and culturally aligned organization despite the challenges of rapid growth and remote work.

2025 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service

Established in 2002, the Stevie Awards have become one of the world’s most coveted business prizes. At the 19th annual Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service, Simpplr won the Silver Stevie Award: Frontline Customer Service Team of the Year, Technology Industries.

From overwhelmed to outstanding

In early 2022, Simpplr’s customer support faced considerable challenges with a limited number of representatives supporting hundreds of customers across the globe. They struggled to manage growing backlogs and shorten resolution times. In mid-2022, we set out to transform our approach with a bold vision of what customer service could be.

We focused first on building the right team. The department nearly tripled, adding new leadership and specialized roles focused on operations, technical account management, and engineering. We created two service centers — one in the U.S. and another in APAC — and a follow-the-sun model for 24/7/365 coverage.

Smart technology, smarter people

We completely reimagined how our team interacts with customers. Using AI solutions that go beyond typical chatbots, we implemented custom sentiment monitoring to quickly identify and address potential problems.

This proactive approach cut escalation rates to just 1% — an industry-leading metric — allowing us to resolve most issues without involving engineers.

We developed more than 200 automated triggers to handle routine tasks, increasing the team’s efficiency by 75% and allowing them to focus on more complex problems. We introduced smart triage that matches each ticket to the best-qualified engineer based on expertise and current workload. Our team members now take ownership of their key areas.

The turnaround

The results speak for themselves: Resolution times improved by 40%, while maintaining quality even as monthly tickets nearly doubled. Our customer satisfaction scores now consistently reach 99%, with service level performance at 98%. This cultural shift has dramatically improved both customer outcomes and team satisfaction, with our support team giving their experience a 95/100 rating.

Our efforts made an impact:

  • 28% weekly attendance maintained
  • 111% increase in pulse survey participation
  • 10% increase in newsletter open rates
  • 114% improvement in newsletter click-through rates
  • 150% growth in manager-to-employee recognition
